The design:

The 2017/18 Newcastle Jets on-field kit pays homage to traditional football kits, the key graphic element features a minimalist approach with clean vertical stripes, taking inspiration from the club logo compromising of three jets, the torso features three distinct vertical stripes, while staying true to the Newcastle Jets brand.

These vertical stripes are offset by contrasting horizontal shoulder, vertical underarm panelling and sleeve insert tabs. The on-field jerseys are backed by a matching short, which continue the vertical graphic element, and are joined by matching socks with a distinctive horizontal red stripe, whilst vertical stripes radiate down the calf.

The 17/18 on-field kit is much more than a piece of apparel, it's a statement to a new era in design.

Getting technical:

The new 2017/18 Newcastle jets on-field jersey is the most technically advanced jersey we have ever produced. The slimmer fit is a nod to upcoming trends in football apparel, at a combined fabric ratio of 167gsm this jersey goes beyond lightweight.

Countless hours were invested in investigating where athletes perspire and which areas were prone to overheating. It was found that males showed higher LSR (local sweat ratios) on the torso obliques (P<0.05) and mid lateral back (P<0.01) during training. *researchgate.com 

The ball point mesh panels target these higher LSR locations, giving the wearer the best transference capacity for managing a constant body temperature. Ballpoint mesh is an exclusive high-performance fabric that is scientifically certified to meet the clearly defined Power-Comfort-Energy (PCE) index criteria by Invista.

The main body and sleeves feature Triple mesh fabric. Triple mesh fabric features quick DRI-FX (quick-dry) technology. Moisture is transferred from the skin and passed to the outer layer of the jersey where it can be quickly evaporated, allowing the wearer to maintain an optimal body temperature.

These fabrics are carried through to the On-Field shorts with a gusset and rear yoke in high-performance Ballpoint Mesh to manage heat expulsion whilst featuring a unique 2-piece flat front waistband to ensure minimal bunching and maximum comfort.

A lightweight technical performance sports sock caps off the playing strip. Featuring unique seamless technology and knitted compression mesh on the dorsal area of the foot, maximising ventilation and moisture wicking.
